We will visit many monasteries, some of them not so well- known, but each of them having something interesting to show. We will see new and old churches/monasteries, we will see that life and tradition didn’t change here since many centuries, that even now the life is almost the same as 1000 years ago. You will overnight in monasteries, you will eat with the nuns and monks, you will talk to them, you can ask any questions you want, and so, by living, hearing, seeing you will understand a little bit of the beauty of the orthodox world, and enjoy living simple, eating well and healthy, and also relaxing your body and soul from the stressful life. It will be NOT an excursion, it will be an EXPERIENCE. May be not so impressive from art and history point of view, but for sure extremely impressive from the experience we will have interacting with local people and people from these monasteries.

Despite the fact that 50 years of hard communism destroyed some of the Romanian churches and monasteries, the fact that Ceausescu in the 80’s had a strong campaign against the church and everything related to it, many of them survived in good or worse conditions and many have been reopened after 1990.

Neamt area is one of the most important monasteries/orthodox region in Romania, if not THE MOST IMPORTANT. The jewels of the crown are two monasteries. One is Neamt monastery, to which all important leaders of the Romanian ortodox are linked. The next jewel is AGAPIA and VARATEC, two sister monasteries, convents, having together almost 1000 nunes. You will see what they do in their workshops, how they live and learn about their belief.

Natalia: no es solo la mejor guía, sino una persona confiable con la que nunca te preocupas por el recorrido. Cuando necesitamos una guía de habla inglesa para el programa, nunca pensamos a quién llamar. Para nosotros lo más importante es saber si Natalia tiene posibilidad para ese período.

Solo trabajando con ella estamos seguros de que el trabajo estará perfectamente hecho. Ella sabe muchas cosas, los turistas siempre están satisfechos.

Durante mis recientes vacaciones en Moldavia, tuve la suerte de tener a la señorita Victoria Odobescu como guía y conductora en dos ocasiones. Un día fuimos a Orheiul Vechi, y otro a Soroca, el fuerte del siglo XV que vigila el cruce del río Dnistre. La señorita Odobescu habla muy bien el inglés coloquial, su rango es amplio y es una conductora segura. Victoria estaba excepcionalmente bien informada sobre la historia, la cultura y la gente de Moldavia. Además, ella era muy sensible a mis necesidades y deseos. Recomiendo los servicios prestados por Victoria Odobescu. Estoy seguro de que tendrá éxito en su carrera en turismo.

Victoria, solo una breve nota para decir muchas gracias por todo el domingo. A pesar del largo y agotador viaje causado por el cierre de la carretera en Ucrania, disfrutamos mucho de nuestro día y aprendimos mucho sobre Moldavia, Transnistria y Ucrania. Disfrutamos especialmente descubriendo Tiraspol, ya que es un lugar tan inusual y nos dio una idea de cómo era la vida bajo el antiguo régimen soviético. Debido a que la historia británica es relativamente simple, con pocas invasiones y sin cambios en las fronteras, luchamos por comprender las complejidades de la historia europea.

Quedamos muy impresionados con su comprensión y con sus excelentes habilidades en el idioma inglés para explicarnos todo. Ciertamente dio vida a nuestra visita a su país. Espero que tu viaje de regreso a casa haya sido un poco más fácil que el de Odessa. Damos las gracias a nuestro conductor ese día. Me temo que no recordamos su nombre, pero apreciamos todo lo que hizo para negociar el camino a través de los cruces fronterizos y llevarnos a Odessa tan rápido como lo hizo a pesar del obstáculos Buena suerte para el éxito futuro en tu carrera. Si alguna vez se encuentra en Inglaterra y puede visitar nuestra área, no dude en llamarnos.
